Obelis Chief Compliance Officer, Mrs. Sandra Ferretti, participated in the official inauguration of CURAM – Center for Research in Medical Devices, which took place on Monday, the 26th of September 2016 in Galway, Ireland. The event, co-organised by Dr James J. Browne, the President of NUI Galway and Professor Abhay Pandit, the director of CURAM, brought together world-class academic, medical devices industry and clinical partners.
Advancing medical devices technology
Regrouping more than 39 academic leads, 250 researchers, 7 clinicians and 6 universities, CURAM emerges as one of the main European centers of research expertise in medical device technology. Its research program focuses on the design, assessment and manufacturing of innovative devices and is driven by experienced researchers, clinicians and industry partners. It incorporates bio-materials and drug delivery, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine to enhance both traditional and new combinational medical devices.
Horizon 2020 partners
CURAM is involved in coordinating and securing funding for activities under the umbrella of the Horizon 2020 program. Obelis, acting as the official European regulatory advisor for several R&D medical devices projects, is proud to partner CURAM in the Horizon 2020 program and work together towards the advancement of medical technology. The H2020 projects address three EU priorities: excellent science, competitive industries and better society.
