- Fines, storage costs or product destruction
- Loss of market access and reputational damage

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Radio equipment is any electrical or electronic product that intentionally emits and/or receives radio waves for radio communication or radiodetermination, including products that require an accessory, such as an antenna, to perform this function.
The Directive does not apply to certain categories, such as equipment used exclusively for public security or defence, amateur radio kits, marine equipment, airborne products regulated under aviation legislation, and custom-built evaluation kits used solely for research and development.
Manufacturers must prepare technical documentation demonstrating compliance with the RED’s essential requirements and must draw up an EU declaration of conformity before affixing the CE marking.
Not always. Where harmonised standards are fully applied, manufacturers may follow internal production control. If standards are not fully applied, involvement of a Notified Body is required under the applicable conformity assessment procedure.
Obelis supports companies throughout the compliance process and act as EU Authorised Representative for non-EU manufacturers.
