Manufacturers of cosmetics often work with very tight deadlines and the waiting time for regulatory documents can have a negative impact on their businesses. Indeed, the CPNP notification can be performed only when the cosmetic is fully EU compliant. However, delays in reviews, tests, and reports can be cut if the manufacturer centralises all the activities. Obelis performs all steps to reach regulatory compliance considering all your needs and strict timelines.
Centralise all activities for a fastest CPNP notification
As your professional Responsible Person, Obelis takes care of all steps:
1. Collection of PIF documents
2. Tests and Safety Assessment Report
3. CPNP notification
After taking care of your Product Information File (PIF), your professional RP promptly notifies your cosmetics. When notifying the products, your RP will provide general information about your products, the labels, and the ingredients to the CPNP. For this reason, it is essential that RP verifies beforehand product’s documentation, namely the formulation, e.g., if it contains allowed substances, labels, and the Safety Assessment Report.
What is a CPNP?
To sell cosmetics in the EU, manufacturers must be sure that their Responsible Person notified the products to the CPNP, the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal. After the CPNP notification, manufacturers can place their cosmetics in all EU countries (27 countries) and EEA countries (Norway, Iceland, and Lichtenstein). In other words, the goal for the manufacturer is the CPNP notification.
However, the product can be notified only after the manufacturer has:
· appointed a Responsible Person (RP) such as Obelis
· a compliant Product Information File (PIF),
· made product compliant with the EU Cosmetics Regulation.
Reaching this point can be a complex process and without the correct regulatory partner, the procedure can be long and demanding. We are here to help and guide you in the compliance process!
