The EMC 89/336/EEC on Electromagnetic Compatibility , mandatory since 1st January 1992, requires Non-European Manufacturers of electromagnetic wave emitting devices to appoint a European Authorized Representative to sell their product in Europe (EMC 89/336/EEC Art. 10, 1).
